1. Buckeye Woods Park

The 392-acre Buckeye Woods Park stretches over beautiful woodlands, 75 acres of wetland, and a picturesque 3-acre pond. Hike and bike down seven miles of trails, through the woods, over open fields, past the lake, and see a grand old burr oak tree of gigantic proportions.

A crushed limestone path runs around the wetland area, where you’ll spot numerous waterfowl. Fish for rainbow trout, bluegill, largemouth bass, and channel catfish, and catch glimpses of the many long-distance bird migrants.

2. Boyert’s Greenhouse and Farm

The Boyert’s Greenhouse and Farm was voted the best Garden Center in Medina County nine times and one of the best 100 Revolutionary Garden Centers in America by Today’s Garden Center Magazine.

The 125-acre farm’s beautifully decorated Garden Center offers a wide selection of annuals, perennials, houseplants, roses, trees, shrubs, fruits, vegetables, and herbs and hosts various free workshops and seminars on an array of subjects throughout the year. It’s also an excellent place to buy grain-fed pasture-raised poultry, pork, and beef, and fresh free-range eggs.

Boyert’s Greenhouse and Farm is at 7171 Wooster Pike in Medina and is open Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., Saturday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

3. Castle Noel

If you enjoy Christmas, you’ll love Castle Noel, a magical Christmas fantasy castle where it’s Christmas and snows every day of the year. There are sled rides, light shows, a 25-foot animated Christmas tree, and an astonishing exhibit of animated Christmas window displays.

You’ll also see the world’s largest privately owned collection of famous Hollywood movie costumes and props, and thousands of vintage toys from the 50s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s. Mark Claus, the owner, claims Castle Noel is the largest indoor Christmas attraction in the country.

4. Cleveland Area Reptile Show

Once a month, the spectacular Cleveland Area Reptile Show comes to town to show off thousands of cute little chameleons, geckos, and lizards, fascinating bearded dragons, and numerous shy tortoises and turtles. There’s an array of toads and frogs, including tree frogs and colorful poison dart frogs, and all sorts of snakes slithering about in their enclosures.
