A well-maintained transmission allows you to get the best performance from your Honda's engine. A worn or damaged transmission, in contrast, can result in an expensive repair or even cause an accident. As your Honda dealer in Medina, OH, we'd like you to know a few signs you could have a problem and you need to visit us for a transmission repair. Signs You Need a Transmission Repair at Your Honda Dealer Slipping Gears Your Honda transmission is designed to change gears on the instructions of your transmission computer. Once the gear changes, your transmission will remain in that gear until it's shifted again by the computer. A slipping gear occurs when the transmission unexpectedly shifts gear by itself. This can be very dangerous, as the gear usually slips into its previous position. A transmission that's slipping makes driving unsafe, as you no longer have full control over your car. Your Honda has a safety feature for this event, and the computer will shift to a single gear and prevent shifting to any gear other than the park gear. This is a temporary solution, but it allows you to reach our service department so our expert technicians can find the cause of the problem and repair it. Transmission Won't Shift No driver thinks about their transmission shifting gears, as it happens automatically. As you drive and speed changes, the transmission computer shifts the gears flawlessly up or down. A transmission that suddenly fails to move is a major problem. If the transmission won't respond, your Honda won't be able to move even if the engine is running perfectly. A non-responsive transmission can be annoying or dangerous, depending on whether it happens when you start your engine or if you're driving when it suddenly occurs. The transmission's failure could be caused by a failed transmission computer, a faulty solenoid, a blocked transmission filter, or a broken sensor. We'll examine your transmission, identity the exact cause, and repair it. Dragging Clutch Around 3% of cars have a manual transmission, and a dragging clutch could be the bane of their lives. When you step on the clutch pedal in a manual, this movement releases the clutch disk from the flywheel and enables you to shift gears. If you have a dragging clutch, the clutch disk won't disengage, and you'll hear an awful grinding sound from the gears as you try and move the gear shift. A dragging clutch is usually caused by a slack clutch cable that reduces the leverage between the clutch pedal and the clutch disk. We'll check the cable and tighten it or install a new one if it's damaged. If you have any problem with your transmission, call us ASAP at Rick Roush Honda.

As the weather finally begins to warm up, it's time to change our routines. Here in Medina, OH, we have some great spring activities to get you happily out of the house and into the sunshine. Here are some of the plans on our minds. 1. April Showers Market Visit the Heartland Community Church at 3400 Weymouth Rd on April 22nd for a spring market. There will be crafts, food trucks, and a raffle. While you shop and chat with your local artisans, live music will play. This event starts at 10 AM and lasts until 3 PM. 2. Austin Badger Park Medina has a lot of great county parks to choose from. Austin Badger is one of the best for spring because it has paved paths, which means you can avoid muddy ground. With any luck, you can avoid the muddy feet of your kids and dogs by sticking to this park. Austin Badger Park is located at 5741 River Styx Rd. Come here to get a bit of a workout in your walking routine on the hilly path. It's a great place to walk your dog and watch the birds become more active with spring. This is also one of the best spots in the area for mountain biking trails. 3. Spring Mist Farms This farm is a little over eight miles from downtown Medina. It is an easy drive in your new Honda Civic Sedan Sport, which gets 37 miles per gallon on the highway. This is a great place to go on a spring day with the kids. Once you get to the location at 691 Pearl Rd in Brunswick Hills Township, you'll have a hard time containing their excitement. In the springtime, you'll want to schedule a visit so you can plan for pony rides. There are fewer people here in the spring, making this the perfect time. Private pony rides happen rain or shine and are $50 per pony, per hour. 4. Pancake Breakfast With the Easter Bunny You won't have to leave Medina this year to have quality time with the Easter bunny. Better yet, you can support the Buckeye Community Theatre while you do it. Have a breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausage while your kids have their photo taken with the Easter bunny. Tickets are $12 for adult and $6 for children. This event will be located at Farmers Table at 320 South Court St. You'll want to show up at 8:30 AM on April first. Spring is when many of us start thinking about the big road trips and adventures for the year ahead. With a few days out in the sun under your belt, you'll be thinking about how you'll be getting to those upcoming experiences. Visit Rick Roush Honda to see our available new vehicles.

To keep your Honda engine lubricated, protected, and running efficiently, a regular Honda oil change from the qualified technicians at your Honda dealer is crucial. Routine oil changes will improve your engine's performance and ensure that your Civic, Accord, or Pilot always performs at its best. Honda Oil Change: How Long Has It Been Since Your Honda's Last Oil Change? Oil Change Intervals Oil lubricates your engine and prevents friction and wear. Over time, the oil becomes contaminated and ceases to protect your engine. The result is high fuel consumption and poor engine performance. Routine oil and filter changes at the factory-recommended intervals are crucial to prevent engine damage and ensure your Honda is fuel-efficient and on the road longer. Generally, Honda recommends changing the oil in your car every 3,000 miles or six months if you drive an older vehicle and every 7,500 miles or six months for 2008 and later models. Check your owner's manual for your model's factory-recommended oil change intervals. Operating Conditions Various factors influence how often your car will need an oil change, such as the engine type, model, age, and conditions under which you operate your vehicle. If you drive your Honda under severe conditions, your car will need new oil more often. Severe driving conditions include driving in heavy traffic, on rough roads, towing heavy loads, and taking regular short trips. Ask your Honda technician for more information on driving conditions and to assist you with the best oil change schedule for your model and driving conditions. The Correct Oil and Filters Using the proper oil grade and the right filters for your Honda is vital to keep your engine well-lubricated and clean. Honda Genuine Oil is blended explicitly for Honda vehicles and tested to ensure extra protection and lubrication for optimal engine performance. Genuine Honda filters prevent harmful contaminants from reaching your engine. The information for the correct grade of oil for your model is in your owner's manual, or ask your Honda technician to assist you in choosing the right oil for your model's engine. Oil Change Specials Your dealer offers excellent money-saving deals on services and parts. Check their website for specials and coupons to save on your next oil change or maintenance service. You can also speak to one of the service consultants for more information. Convenient Appointment Scheduling Scheduling an oil change is easy and convenient. You can phone your dealer directly or conveniently book an oil change on their website by filling in the online form. A service consultant will contact you promptly to arrange a time that best suits you. If you stick to the oil change intervals and use quality oil, you will save money on gas, your engine will run at its best, and your Honda will last longer. Contact Rick Roush Honda today for an oil change to ensure your engine is well-lubricated, protected, and running smoothly.
