Used Hondas: Why They're a Smart Buy

If you're in the market for a dependable vehicle without stretching your budget, used Hondas are worth a serious look. Honda’s built a reputation for reliability, long-lasting performance, and strong resale value—making pre-owned models a practical choice for drivers of all kinds. And for drivers and families in Medina, Ohio, who commute daily, drive the kids to games, school, and other activities, or just enjoy driving in any season, rain, snow, or shine, a used Honda can check a lot of boxes. more Why Used Hondas Hold Their Value One reason used Hondas remain so popular is how well they hold up over time. Honda vehicles are engineered with durability in mind, which means many models continue running smoothly well past 100,000 miles when properly maintained. That built-in longevity gives buyers confidence that they're making a smart long-term investment, not just a short-term fix. Models like the Accord, Civic, and CR-V consistently rank among the most reliable vehicles in their segments, in addition to being fuel-efficient and offering features like all-wheel drive. When you buy used, you're getting the benefit of Honda's engineering reputation at a lower entry price—which is a big part of what makes these vehicles such affordable Hondas for budget-conscious shoppers. Popular Used Honda Models to Consider The Honda lineup covers a wide range of needs, so there's usually a used model that fits your lifestyle. The Civic Sedan is a great pick for drivers who want a fun, efficient compact car. The Accord offers a bit more space and a refined ride that works well for longer commutes. If you need more room, the CR-V and Pilot are both excellent choices in the SUV category. The CR-V is compact enough for easy city driving but spacious inside, while the Pilot offers 3 rows for larger families. The Odyssey minivan is another strong option for those who need maximum passenger and cargo capacity. Each of these models has a strong track record, and finding affordable Hondas in any of these nameplates is very realistic in the used market. What to Look for When Shopping Pre-Owned When shopping for used Hondas, a few key steps can make your experience smoother. Start by reviewing the vehicle history report to check for any past accidents or major repairs. It's also a good idea to have a trusted mechanic inspect the vehicle before you commit. Pay attention to mileage, but don't let it be your only deciding factor. A well-maintained Honda with higher mileage can sometimes be a better investment than a lower-mileage vehicle that's been neglected. Ask about service records and whether the vehicle has been kept up with scheduled maintenance. The Case for Honda Certified Pre-Owned If you want added peace of mind, Honda's Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program is worth exploring. Certified Pre-Owned vehicles go through a 182-point inspection, must be no more than 6 years old or have less than 80,000 miles, and come backed by Honda's limited warranty coverage. With other perks like 24-hour roadside assistance and complimentary oil changes, the CPO option bridges the gap between buying new and buying used—offering reliability assurances that a standard used vehicle purchase may not include. For drivers in Medina, Ohio, exploring Certified Pre-Owned used Hondas can be a smart way to get a newer model with lower mileage and additional coverage, all at a more accessible price point. Find Your Used Honda Today Used Hondas continue to be one of the most sought-after pre-owned options on the market, and for good reason. With a wide selection of models, strong reliability ratings, and genuinely affordable Hondas available across multiple trim levels, there's a pre-owned Honda out there for nearly every driver and budget. Stop by Rick Roush Honda in Medina, Ohio, and we’ll go through our current inventory to find the right fit for you.

Maximize your vehicle's lifespan by establishing simple maintenance habits and reaching out to our service team today for expert guidance. more Know Your Maintenance Schedule for Honda Service Following the recommended maintenance schedule is essential for reliable vehicle ownership. Honda utilizes a Maintenance Minder system to alert you when specific services are due based on driving conditions instead of just mileage. Common service intervals include oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid top-offs. If your dashboard displays a wrench icon or an alphanumeric code, schedule service immediately. Helpful Maintenance Tips Before Your Service Visit Preparing for your appointment ensures a smooth experience. Write down any noticed concerns, such as unusual sounds, dashboard warnings, or handling changes. Sharing these details allows your service advisor to address issues efficiently. Bring your vehicle identification number and previous service records so your technician can review your vehicle's history and make informed recommendations. Honda Service Maintenance Tips for Between Visits Vehicle care continues after you leave the service bay. Follow simple maintenance tips between appointments to protect your vehicle. Essential Car Maintenance Tips Every Honda Driver Should Know

Consistent vehicle maintenance is the smartest approach to keeping your Honda running optimally. Driving a Civic, CR-V, Accord, or another model requires a routine service schedule to protect your investment and maintain safety. Drivers facing tough Ohio weather rely on Rick Roush Honda in Medina, OH, for proactive care. Contact our service center to schedule your maintenance and secure your vehicle's longevity. more Why Regular Maintenance Matters All vehicles require ongoing attention. Routine car maintenance prevents minor issues from escalating into expensive repairs. Consistent service preserves performance, fuel efficiency, and overall value. Delaying scheduled maintenance often leads to higher expenses later. Keep Up with Oil Changes Routine oil changes are a primary vehicle maintenance requirement. Engine oil lubricates moving parts, reduces friction, and prevents overheating. Oil degrades over time and loses effectiveness. The Honda Maintenance Minder system monitors driving conditions and alerts you when service is due. Schedule an appointment promptly once the alert activates. Check and Rotate Your Tires Tire condition dictates your vehicle's handling, tread wear, and fuel efficiency. Monitor tire pressure regularly to ensure optimal safety. Rotate your tires every 5,000 to 7,500 miles, or as the Maintenance Minder recommends, to extend their lifespan. Inspect the tread depth during every rotation. Inspect Your Brake System Brakes are a critical safety component. Worn brake pads, low brake fluid, or a soft brake pedal indicate a need for immediate service. If you experience squealing, grinding, or a pulsing sensation, schedule a brake inspection immediately. Early detection prevents severe damage to rotors or calipers. Monitor Fluid Levels Your Honda utilizes several fluids to operate, including coolant, transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and windshield washer fluid. Monitor these levels regularly. Consistently dropping fluid levels typically indicate a leak requiring professional repair. Your local service center can top off fluids during routine visits. Replace Air Filters The engine air filter prevents debris from entering the engine, while the cabin filter cleans the interior air. Clogged filters reduce performance, lower fuel efficiency, and degrade interior air quality. Consult your owner's manual for specific replacement intervals. Follow the Manufacturer Schedule The owner's manual outlines a specific maintenance schedule for spark plugs, timing belts, coolant flushes, and transmission service. Following this schedule guarantees your vehicle receives the necessary care at the right intervals. Your service advisor tracks this history to ensure proper documentation. Schedule Your Next Service Visit Proper maintenance protects vehicle performance and reliability. The team at Rick Roush Honda in Medina, OH, handles routine oil changes and complex repairs alike. Understanding Honda's Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control

When you're out on the roads, you want to be sure that your vehicle can keep stay in control under a variety of weather and road conditions. That's exactly what Honda's AWD system does. The Honda Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System is designed to provide superior traction at all times, so you can remain confident no matter what you're facing on the roads. Let's explore this system. more Understanding the Honda Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System How Does the System Work? Under normal driving conditions, power sent to the front wheels (front-wheel drive) is sufficient to maintain traction. However, when the roads are wet, icy, or uneven, your front tires can slip, and without any power sent to the rear wheels, there's no backup system to help stabilize the vehicle. Honda's intelligent AWD system is a part-time AWD system. It's designed to deliver additional real-wheel traction when necessary to stabilize your vehicle. The system uses a variety of sensors to continuously monitor steering angle, wheel speed, transmission gear, and other inputs. It proactively distributes an optimal amount of torque to the rear wheels before wheel slip is significant, thus preventing high-risk scenarios. When rear-wheel torque is no longer needed, the system automatically routes power back to the front wheels only, helping the vehicle to conserve fuel. What Vehicles Have it? Not all Honda models have the Real-Time AWD system. Currently, only the 2025 CR-V and HR-V have it available. The HR-V comes standard in front-wheel drive and has Real Time AWD as an available option in all trims. The CR-V has the same setup, with the exception of the Sport Touring Hybrid trim, which offers standard AWD. How Does Real-Time AWD Differ From Other Systems? Real-Time AWD differs from traditional full-time AWD systems, as Honda's system only sends power to the rear wheels when it's needed, and reverts back to FWD when it's not. Other systems that have a constant 50/50 or variable split of torque typically have reduced fuel efficiency. Several of Honda's vehicles, such as the Pilot, Passport, and Ridgeline, use a different kind of AWD system called the i-VTM4 AWD system. It can distribute torque not just between the front and rear axles, but between the left and right rear wheels too. This improves traction in more demanding conditions and terrain. Honda's Real Time AWD system uses intelligent technology to give you reliable traction when needed, and superior efficiency when not. brake repair in Medina, OH

Does Your Honda Need a Brake Repair?

Your brakes are one of your Honda's most essential safety features, as they enable you to control your speed at any time. Brake components can wear out or get damaged, and this affects your Honda's braking ability. As your Honda dealer, we'd like you to know some of the signs that you need to visit us for a brake repair. Signs You Need a Brake Repair at Your Honda Dealer Soft Brake Pedal The braking system contains braking fluid, and this fluid is highly pressurized. High pressure is essential, as the average weight of a Honda is approximately 4,100 lbs, and the braking system must force it to stop moving almost instantly when you hit the brakes. You can feel the pressure inside the system as resistance when you press down on the pedal. If you step on the brake pedal and you feel little resistance, you have a serious brake problem. The lack of resistance means there is either a leak in the system and brake fluid is draining out, or there's an air bubble in the braking system. The lack of resistance means your brakes will be slower to respond than they should be and could even fail. We'll find and fix the cause of the problem. more Overheating Brake Fluid When you hit the brakes, the pressurized brake fluid is forced into the brake hoses and lines. Once you take your foot off the brakes, the fluid is withdrawn. If you have to ride your brakes, for example, you're driving downhill or are stuck in traffic, the brake fluid is kept in the hoses and lines. The pressure in the system generates heat, and this can cause the fluid to overheat. If you smell a foul burning chemical smell, your brake fluid could be overheating. If this happens, we advise pulling over ASAP and allowing your brakes to cool. Driving with overheating brake fluid is dangerous, as it loses its ability to generate hydraulic pressure. Without this pressure, your brakes are likely to fail. We'll examine your braking system to determine any other cause for the overheating fluid. Visible Damage Most of the braking system can only be seen from underneath your car. You can, however, see several of its vital systems by looking through the spokes of your wheels. If you kneel, you can see the flat rotor behind each wheel, the brake caliper that's positioned above the rotor, and the brake pads inside the brake calipers. If you use a flashlight, you might see signs of damage like a jammed caliper, scouring on the rotor, or even a small leak from a worn hose. Our technicians can more closely examine the system and repair any problems we find. If your brakes are slow to respond, or show any other signs of trouble, call us ASAP at Rick Roush Honda.

Honda finance

4 Reasons to Get Car Financing at Your Honda Dealer

You're at your Honda dealer looking at the car of your dreams and all ready to buy. Except you haven't secured any financing yet. You know you can go to your bank and get a car loan from them, but your dealership also offers financing. So, which should you choose? We're going to give you four good reasons to stay at your dealership and obtain your car financing there. 1. It's Convenient You're already at your dealership looking at cars, so why make an extra trip to go to the bank? Even if you talk to your bank before your car search, the time it takes to contact them again when you're ready to buy means you could lose out on the car you've found. Besides, when you secure your loan from your bank or other financial institution, you have to do all the work. At your dealership, they're ready with the paperwork and have done all the work for you. more 2. You're More Likely To Get a Loan If you have bad credit, your bank isn't likely to give you a loan. And even if your credit is decent and you do get a loan, it's likely to come with high interest rates. However, your car dealership doesn't make their money off of your loan: they make it off of the actual car sale. This means they're a lot more likely to take a chance on you and offer you a loan. 3. You'll Be Offered More Flexible Terms When you get a loan from your bank, the payment terms are likely set out for you and will often come with a set interest rate. Dealerships tend to offer very generous loan terms and interest rates to get customers in the door. 4. You'll Get Some Loan Amount Flexibility Your bank will give you a set amount for your loan and unless you want to re-apply or come up with more money yourself, that's the amount you have to work with. However, often you'll find a vehicle that's perfect for you that's slightly above the amount you have, or you want some additional features added on. Securing your loan through your dealership means you can apply for the amount you need when you go to purchase your dream car. At Rick Roush Honda, our goal is to give you an interactive tour of our inventory and get you a quote. Our friendly staff will then happily schedule a test drive, answer any questions you may have, and help you apply for financing. Visit Rick Roush Honda online today to take an interactive tour and start your vehicle buying journey.

alternator repair in Honda

Does Your Honda Need an Alternator Repair?

The alternator is the center of your Honda's electrical charging system. It produces electricity, which is then transported to all your car's systems and devices. If your alternator is worn or damaged, your Honda dealer can fix the problem. These are a few signs that you may need an alternator repair very soon. Signs You Need an Alternator Repair at Your Honda Dealer Burning Smells As the alternator ages, it gradually becomes weaker. Components start to wear out or fail, and the alternator won't produce the level of electricity it once did. When your alternator can't produce enough power the electrical shortfall will become apparent. Signs of a lack of electricity in your car's headlights becoming dim, frequent electrical glitches, and other issues. When the alternator can't produce enough power, your car's computer will instruct it to work harder. The alternator will spin faster to try and generate more power, but a worn alternator will quickly start to produce a strong burning smell. This smell is caused by the metal heating up as it struggles to produce electricity. Our technicians will examine your alternator and replace it if it's worn out. more Flickering Headlights Headlight bulbs have a varied lifespan depending on the type of bulb. When a headlight bulb starts to fail, it will usually flicker for a while before it finally burns out. These bulbs can also flicker if the electrical supply they receive isn't stable. Bulbs require a constant and consistent power supply to operate correctly. If your alternator is wearing out, the power it supplies will drop. Your car's computer will have to adjust the power supplied to each component to maximize the usage of the available electricity. This can result in fluctuations in the amount of power supplied to the headlights, and they will flicker as a result. We can test your alternator for you. If your alternator is failing, we'll install a new one to fix the problem. Damaged Belt Tensioner The alternator is powered by the movement of the serpentine belt. This belt is connected to the crankshaft, and it runs across a series of pulleys. As the crankshaft turns, the belt moves and causes the pulleys to spin. One of these pulleys is connected to the alternator, which produces electricity in response to the movement of the serpentine belt. The belt is maintained at a constant tension by the belt tensioner. If the belt is too loose, it can slip off the pulleys. A belt that's too tight could snap. If the belt tensioner is damaged, the belt won't move at a consistent rate. This slows down the movement of the alternator and accepts your car's electrical supply. We'll examine the belt tensioner and adjust or replace it depending on the situation. If you suspect a problem with your alternator, call our service department at Rick Roush Honda.

The Passport now comes equipped with roof rails, rugged all-season tires, heated windshield wipers, automatic LED fog lights, and all-season floor mats. With a trim built for long family road trips in all weather, it seems like Honda understands that comfort is also important on the TrailSport as well. This trim level sees Honda's introduction of leather-trimmed seats with Honda's signature orange stitching, ambient interior lighting, second-row sunshades, a passenger seat power outlet, and an illuminated cupholder. The Elite To round off its 2023 Passport trim lineup, Honda adds some luxurious finishing touches to the Elite trim of the 2023 Passport, improving the comfort and usability of the car for drivers and passengers while keeping most of the sporty features of the TrailSport trim.
