A graphic with photos of 3 Honda SUVs and the text: Which Honda SUV Is Right for Me?

An SUV offers larger cargo capacity, more passenger space, increased visibility, higher ground clearance, and improved handling on difficult terrain compared to a sedan. Determining the right Honda SUV can be difficult, so as your Honda dealer, we want to tell you more about some of your choices.

2024 Honda HR-V

The HR-V is a subcompact SUV and a great choice if you want to carry up to five people in comfort. It’s powered by a 2.0L 4-cyl engine that provides 158 hp. It’s fuel efficient and will get you 26 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway with FWD, or 25 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway with the optional AWD.

Its cargo capacity is 24.4 cubic feet in the trunk, and this expands to 55.1 cubic feet with the second-row seat folded.  The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) awarded it a Top Safety Pick + award for its superior design and wide range of safety features and technology.

2024 Honda CR-V

The CR-V is slightly larger than its HR-V cousin above, as it is a compact SUV. The legroom in the CR-V is 41.3″ in the front and 41.0″ in the rear seats. Increased legroom translates into a more comfortable journey, particularly for the rear passengers. Its cargo capacity is also the highest in its class with 39.3 cubic feet of space in the trunk and 76.5 cubic feet with the rear seat folded.

The CR-V is powered by a turbocharged 1.5L 4-cyl engine that can achieve 27 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. A hybrid option is available, which features a 2.0L engine and will get you 36 mpg on the highway and 43 mpg in the city. Like the HR-V above, this model is packed with safety equipment including a driver-attention monitor, blind-spot monitoring, and backseat reminder system.

2024 Honda Pilot

The Pilot increases your passenger and cargo-carrying options even further. It has three rows of seats, and will comfortably accommodate eight people. This will be reduced to seven if you choose to replace the second-row bench seat with two captain’s chairs. Power is provided by a 3.5L V6 that supplies 285 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. Despite the larger engine, the Pilot has a healthy fuel efficiency of 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.
