This venue boasts handmade cold treats with a variety of choices. The outside walk-up counter is convenient, and the service is fast. They offer more than 30 flavors, such as black cherry, banana cream pie, chunky chocolate chip, mint chocolate chip, German chocolate cake, chocolate chip cookie dough, blue moon, butter pecan, and much more. They also serve sorbet, sundaes, and shakes. Their prices won’t break the bank, either.
Your whole family can relax outside on the benches while everyone enjoys their desserts. Handel’s is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and they are located at 1050 S. Court St.
2. Chill Artisan
Chill Artisan is one of the places that locals frequent. This hip establishment offers a variety of flavors and novelty creations. Try the homemade lavender lemonade sorbet, the strawberry sundae, or the Shut Your Eyes and Hold Your Breath. Yes, they have some interesting names! Other options include a single, double, or triple scoop in either a cup or a cake cone. They also serve cheesecake, zucchini bread, and coffee drinks.
Chill Artisan is open Sunday through Thursday from noon to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from noon to 9 p.m. You’ll find them at 11 Public Square.
3. School House Scoops
Offering both your long-time favorites and new creations, School House Scoops is another popular choice. You can enjoy anything from soft serve cones to yogurt cake cones and milkshakes to slushes. There are dozens of flavors to select from, as well as mix-ins and toppings. You can even choose a slice of pie a la mode, a banana split, or a root beer float.
One thing people appreciate about this store is that they donate a percentage of their profits to the Medina City Schools’ music and athletic programs. Visit the store any day with the exception of Friday. They are at 686 Lafayette Rd.
