The parks in Medina, OH, offer beautiful retreats for peaceful picnics with family and friends. Head down the road in a Honda Civic, Passport, or Ridgeline to the picturesque picnic spots below and enjoy delicious meals outdoors surrounded by beautiful scenery.

1. Allardale Park

The 388-acre Allardale Park at 401 Remsen Road in Medina is one of the most scenic parks in the area boasting over 100,000 tulip poplar, oak, and beech trees and a picturesque 67-acre pond, providing many beautiful spots for peaceful picnics. Stroll down the nature trails through wooded ravines and open meadows to find the perfect place to spread your picnic blanket or follow the paved path from the parking lot to the shelter tucked away between the trees.

2. Buckeye Woods Park

Buckeye Woods Park at 6335 Wedgewood Road in Medina spans 392 acres of woodlands, ponds, and a 75-acre wetland. It’s the perfect getaway for nature lovers. Seven miles of paved and gravel trails wind through the buckeye grove, with many spots to stop and enjoy a bite to eat.

The Chippewa Inlet Trail cuts through the heart of the woods and runs along the lake, and eventually, you’ll come out of the trees and into a vast wetland area. A path encircles the wetland, a stopover for many long-distance migrating birds and home to an array of native waterfowl.

3. Memorial Park

The popular 10.75-acre Memorial Park on East Homestead Drive in Medina is an excellent destination to picnic with kids and the family pooch. Here, you and your family and friends can play a round of disc golf and throw a frisbee or kick a ball around on the lawn.

Take a break on one of the benches while the kids play at the wooden J.U.M.P. Playground, complete with swings and a mini basketball court, cool off in the sparkling pool, and, when everyone is ready for a meal, head to the massive pavilion for a bite to eat.

4. Jaycee Park

The beautiful wooded Jaycee Park at 1198 Sturbridge Drive in Medina offers 39 acres of natural scenery. Take in the views as you enjoy a lovely picnic at the pavilion, surrounded by lush rolling lawns, and watch the little ones on the merry-go-round and climb and swing on the play structure. After your picnic, take a stroll along the scenic walking path behind the pavilion and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the woods.

5. Liberty Park

The 3.75-acre Liberty Park on Yorktown Drive off Route 18 in Medina is a serene and peaceful oasis, ideal for al fresco dining at a picnic table under the pavilion or in the shade of one of the trees dotting the well-maintained green lawn. The pavilion is surrounded by woods attracting numerous bird species. A playground area and nature trail are conveniently located near the pavilion.
