Medina, OH, is one of the best spots in the state to spend the summer, with plenty of different parks, museums to check out, and other family-friendly activities designed to delight everyone in your group. Here are five fun summer activities just a short drive from Medina.
1. Medina Farmers Market
The Medina Farmers Market, 5 Public Square, is one of the best summertime outings in the heart of Medina. You’ll find tons of produce and fruit from friendly neighboring farms, plus goodies like honey, beauty products, and lovely flowers. There are also plenty of snacks at the Medina Farmers Market, including candy, apples, and popcorn for the kids.
2. Grindstone Festival
Just about half an hour down the road in Berea, you’ll find the Grindstone Festival, 11 Berea Commons, near Coe Lake Park. This beloved Fourth of July festival has a fun-packed schedule of family activities like paddle-boating on the lake, plenty of local vendors, and entertainment. Stick around at night for a fireworks show that you won’t forget.
3. Saint Ambrose Summer Festival
Saint Ambrose Summer Festival at 929 Pearl Rd. is less than ten miles outside the city center of Medina and is an old-fashioned fair with food, games, rides for all ages, and plenty of entertainment. This festival is a cherished tradition in Brunswick and a great way to treat your family this summer.
4. Rib White and Blue
Check out Rib White and Blue at 220 S. Main St. in nearby Akron is an excellent place to go if you want to sample tasty BBQ and check out some live music. You’ll find plenty of vendors from all over the region selling massive plates of BBQ with tasty sides like cornbread, coleslaw, and beans. There are also funnel cakes and other sweet treats for people craving something sugary.
5. 2023 Summer Concert Series
The 2023 Summer Concert Series at Blue Barn Winery, 4407 Columbus Rd., in Wooster, is less than an hour away from Medina and features live music in an excellent venue. You’ll find acoustic sets, tribute bands, and original acts at the Blue Barn Winery. Please drink responsibly and in moderation, as you enjoy the music.
