1. See Thousands of Reptiles

Take the kids to see thousands of reptiles at the Cleveland Area Reptile Show. Watch pythons and boas slither in their enclosures, peek at corn, king, milk, and rat snakes, and look closer at lizards, geckos, chameleons, and bearded dragons. There are also colorful poison dart frogs, tree frogs, toads, and an array of tortoises and turtles on display.

The Cleveland Area Reptile Show is held monthly at the Medina Fairgrounds Community Center at 735 Lafayette road in Medina from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

2. Have a Blast at the Romp n Stomp Activity Center

The Romp n Stomp Activity Center is about giving the little ones the time of their lives. This family-owned business specializes in rentals and birthday parties, but they are open for toddlers and children up to six once a week.

Take your kids to have a blast playing on the inflatables, creating art and craft, and listening to stories. The center’s monthly Family Fun Nights include the whole family with slippery slides, assault courses, bounce houses, and craft sessions where kids can win fun prizes.

3. Join the Excitement at Swings-N-Things Fun Park

Take a 22-mile drive to Olmsted Falls to enjoy all the excitement at Swings-N-Things, packed with indoor and outdoor family activities. Play challenging games of mini-golf, get behind the wheel of a go-kart, have fun on the bumper boats, and practice your swing in the batting cages. Play paintball and tons of classic video games, and get over to the Ground Zero Laser Shoot-Out that feels like you are right inside the game.

4. Meet the Wild Animals at Akron Zoo

Load the kids in the car for a visit to the Akron Zoo, just 23 miles away. The zoo is divided into different themed areas dedicated to creatures from North America, South America, Africa, and Asia and every section offers a whole new experience. Get close to over a thousand animals from all over the world, including endangered Sumatran tigers, snow Leopards, Humboldt penguins, and Komodo dragons.

Akron Zoo is at 505 Euclid Avenue in Akron and is open in the winter from November to March between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily.
