New Honda models come with Blind Spot Information System or BSI, an assistive-driving function formerly known as LaneWatch. LaneWatch or Blind Spot Information System is meant to monitor your blind spot, the area to the far right or far left of your vehicle that you are unable to visualize. Blind Spot Information System uses a digital display inside your Honda to alert you to oncoming vehicles, pedestrians, or cyclists in the area you cannot see.

How Does It Work?

Honda’s Blind Spot Information System works by utilizing radar sensors and digital cameras to detect movement in your blind spot and obtain a visual of what’s causing that movement. When your turn signal is on to indicate a lane change, Blind Spot Information System or LaneWatch displays an image of the lane you’re entering on your Honda’s in-cabin display screen. This allows you to fully see what’s in your blind spot without having to strain and reposition yourself to get a physical view.

While BSI turns on with your turn signal, you can also turn the feature on manually when you want to view your blind spot. With the simple press of a button, the Blind Spot Information System can give you a full view of the area you cannot see beyond your Honda.
