With a history dating back to the early 1970s, the Honda Civic has traveled over fifty years to get here. But the 11th-generation Civic isn’t only one thing. It’s a versatile vehicle that comes in diverse hatchback or sedan forms.

1. Engine Choice

Not only do you get to decide between a Civic Hatchback or Civic Sedan, but you also have a choice of engines. Whichever body type you choose, the first two trims (LX and Sport) have an efficient 2.0 L four-cylinder engine delivering up to 158 hp and 138 lb-ft of torque. This engine blends responsive acceleration with economical idle-stop technology.

Performance-minded drivers might be tempted by the 2024 Honda Civic’s top two trims (EX or EX-L and Touring or Sport Touring), which come with a 1.5 L four-cylinder turbocharged engine leveraging up to 180 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque.

2. Flexible Navigation

Whichever 2024 Honda Civic you’re considering, you’ll have navigation choices. In the top “Touring” trims, there’s a built-in Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System, which you’d view on the upgraded 9″ touchscreen. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support across all trims lets you hook up to your smartphone and run your favorite navigation app (e.g., Google Maps, Waze).

3. Fuel Economy Choices

The 2024 Honda Civic lets you influence fuel efficiency in various ways. CVT gearing is a little more efficient than the manual gearboxes available on hatchback Sport trims, for instance. All Civic models can access an ECON mode through the Eco Assist System, which reduces fuel consumption.

Unusually, none of the Honda Civics have identical fuel economy ratings. The sleek sedan trims are slightly more efficient, with the penultimate EX offering outstanding 33/42/36 mpg figures (city/highway/combined).

4. Entertainment Options

The two middle 2024 Honda Civic trims (hatchback or sedan) have an 8-speaker 180W audio system. The base trim has a 4-speaker 160W system, while the top Touring or Sport Touring trims have a Bose Premium 12-speaker audio system with a subwoofer. You can stream audio from your phone using Bluetooth or channel it through Android Auto/Apple CarPlay.

5. Available Wireless Connectivity

Wireless connectivity in a car adds versatility because passengers aren’t all vying for the same USB ports. The top 2024 Honda Civic trims (sedan and hatchback) offer wireless phone charging and wireless Android Auto or Apple CarPlay connection.
