2023 Honda HR-V
After a complete makeover, the Honda HR-V is both faster, fancier, and roomier, while still carrying an expanded collection of standard features. If you're curious about finding the right compact SUV for your needs, here's an overview of the 2023 Honda HR-V.
Trim Levels
The 2023 HR-V is offered in the LX, Sport, and EX-L trims. The LX starts with automatic on/off LED headlights, LED taillights, automatic high beams, an automatic intermittent rear windshield wiper, power side mirrors, and 17-inch silver-painted alloy wheels. It has 7 inches of ground clearance, and keyless entry and a body-color rear spoiler are included.
The Sport builds from there with a proximity key fob, 18-inch gloss black wheels, heated side mirrors with turn signals, dark rear privacy glass, chrome exhaust, and a sport grille. At the top of the list, the EX-L has 17-inch machined alloy wheels and a power moonroof to the Sport's features. Consider getting an HR-V in a premium color like Nordic Frost Pearl or Milano Red to stand out from the crowd.

Engine
Every trim level of the 2023 HR-V uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 158 horsepower. Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is optional. The Sport and EX-L add remote engine start.
Performance
The HR-V LX brings hill descent control, hill start assist, and easy switching between Normal, Eco, and Snow drive modes. In terms of general performance features like braking, handling, and steering, the HR-V is more than fun to drive. Honda's new Advanced Compatibility Engineering body design not only increases safety against impact but also helps maintain stability during intense driving.
Interior
The HR-V LX features an enhanced cabin for 2023, with a greater overall use of high-quality materials. It includes comfortable cloth seating, a 24.4 cubic-foot cargo area, and a 60/40-split folding rear seat, plus automatic climate control and push-button start. Active noise cancellation uses audio speakers to counteract sound waves from outside.
A 7-inch driver digital cluster shows important information related to any safety or driver assistance features. In the same way, a 7-inch infotainment screen is standard at the center console, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth and audio controls at the steering wheel, and three USB ports.
The HR-V Sport has six audio speakers instead of the LX's four, plus heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter knob, and other upgrades. The EX-L tops things off with full leather seating, dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient LED lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and an eight-way power driver's seat. It also has an upgraded infotainment system with a 9-inch touch-screen, eight audio speakers, satellite and HD radio, and wireless device charging.

Safety Features
Plenty of driver assistance and collision avoidance features come standard on the HR-V. These include forward collision prevention with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, a rear backup camera, tire-pressure monitoring, a rear seat reminder, and lane-keeping features. Two new additions for 2023 are traffic jam assist and traffic sign recognition. Rear side-impact airbags were also added.
Consider upgrading to the Sport to add a blind-spot monitor and automatic proximity door locking, activated when you walk away from your vehicle. The EX-L goes further, adding front and rear parking sensors and low-speed brake control.
