Honda Gets More Aggressive With the Civic

It's no surprise to us, here at Rick Roush Honda, that the recently redesigned Honda Civic is one of the bestselling cars in the nation. As a matter of fact, Honda sells more Civics a year than some of their competitors sell across their entire lineups in a year. And, when you have a good thing, sometimes it's hard to make big changes to it.

However, the most recent refresh of the Honda Civic, while well-received across the board, has garnered some criticism in the industry for not being bold enough. Never one to stop at just good enough, it comes as no surprise then, after a meeting of Honda leaders and West Coast Honda dealers, the automaker has announced that the 2013 Civic will definitely get some more aggressive upgrades.

Because the most recent redesign of the Civic is the 2012 model, we probably won't see the 2013 model until much later in the year. Until then, however, the 2012 Civic does boast some pretty impressive upgrades in handling, safety and technology. And of course, it's still got the soul of the Civic that has been America's favorite subcompact for over three decades.

Compared to the 2011 model, the newest Civic has a shorter wheelbase, allowing for better agility and a bit of weight loss. There's more leg room, over an inch-and-a-half, actually. The all-new Intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID), sits conveniently right in front of the wheel. Drivers can connect their iPod to their Civic's entertainment system, and the 5-inch display will show any album art from the device. The latest Civic also boasts a combined 28/39-mpg city/highway fuel rating, a combined 10-percent gain over last year's model, and well ahead of most every other car in its class.

While we wait to see how the more aggressively styled Civic takes shape, we invite you to come down and see us at Rick Roush Honda, 3157 Medina Rd Medina, OH, to see the car that has been a driver favorite for years.  Before you come by, feel free to take a minute to browse our entire selection of new and used-car models, and contact us with any of your questions or to schedule a test drive.
