Introducing the All-New Honda CR-V, Arriving in December

Honda unveiled a restyled Honda CR-V at the Orange County International Auto Show earlier this year. They made some pretty exciting changes to the lineup-favorite SUV, but we weren't sure if that would be the model we'd see rolling into our showroom here at Rick Roush Honda late this year.

For a while it appeared we'd have to wait until the Los Angeles Auto Show to see the official production model. But, we were pretty excited last week to see photos appear on Honda's website, revealing that the model shown earlier this year will, in fact, be the model available for drivers in the Cleveland area, soon.

So what do you have to look forward to? The next-gen CR-V is based on a new platform, and the most significant change you'll see is in the wraparound front bumper, which is now integrated into the front fascia. The side sills are more pronounced, and the three-bar horizontal front grille stands out more. The headlights are slimmer than previous models, topping off the more aerodynamic styling of the 2013 CR-V. Honda is also claiming that there's more room inside the SUV, for passengers and cargo.

We'll have more details to share with you, including complete engine specs, after the Los Angeles Auto Show, taking place next week. What we can tell you is, there's a good chance you'll find a variation of the current model's 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, 180 hp engine under the hood of the 2012 CR-V. We know it will undergo some minor changes, as Honda has been working to increase fuel-efficiency across their lineup. So, while the current model boasts a combined EPA-estimate of 24-mpg, the next-gen CR-V will get a boost.

Stayed tuned with us here at Rick Roush Honda, 3157 Medina Rd Medina, OH 44256, to stay up-to-date on the latest news on this and other upcoming Honda releases. The CR-V is set to hit our showroom floor sometime in December, but in the meantime, if you have any questions, feel free to contact us via our website, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
