2024 Honda Ridgeline vs 2024 Ford Ranger

2024 Honda Ridgeline vs 2024 Ford Ranger

If you're currently considering your truck-buying options, you will have likely come across the 2024 Honda Ridgeline and the Ford Ranger. Both are highly rated trucks, but you can expect a few key differences between each choice.

Truck Power

A 2.3-liter engine with 270 horsepower powers the 2024 Ford Ranger, whereas the Honda Ridgeline features a 3.5-liter engine with 280 horsepower. A rear-wheel-drive system comes standard on the Ford Ranger, and the Honda Ridgeline gets a standard all-wheel drive, making it a better option for inclement weather conditions.

Functionality

Functionality and practicality are important features to consider when choosing your next truck. The Ford Ranger's bed is 59.6 inches by 48.2 inches in size, meaning the Honda Ridgeline offers slightly more space at 64 inches by 50 inches. A dual-action tailgate and in-bed trunk are standard on all Honda Ridgeline trims and are not currently available on the Ford Ranger.

Performance

Whether towing, hauling, or simply commuting to and from work, performance can make a difference in the comfort and capability of your daily commute. Ford offers a leaf-spring suspension, and Honda offers an independent multi-link, both of which add to a smoother commute. The independent multi-link suspension from Honda, though, is standard on all trims, whereas you'll have to upgrade to the XL, XLT, or Lariat trims in the Ford for the leaf-spring suspension system.

Both the Ridgeline and Ranger are capable of towing and hauling. With the Honda Ridgeline, you also get more standard features.
